Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report

What’s biting, what’s running, and what to expect — straight from Captain Richard.

Current Conditions

Updated May 2026

May is one of the most exciting months on the water at Sebastian Inlet. The offshore bite is firing on all cylinders — Mahi Mahi are showing up in good numbers, King Mackerel are running hard along the nearshore reefs, and the Tarpon are rolling through on their annual migration. If you want a shot at a real trophy fish, this is the window. We’re also seeing the first Blacktip Sharks and Cobia of the season, so there’s no shortage of action regardless of what you’re after.

Looking ahead into summer: June and July bring the full shark and Tarpon run, with Snook and Redfish heating up inshore as the water warms. By August the inshore bite really locks in — Snook, Redfish, and Sea Trout are all in prime form through September and October. Fall and winter shift to Pompano, Sheepshead, and the rare Goliath Grouper — a fish you won’t forget.

Sebastian Inlet fishes year-round, and every season has a target worth chasing. Book a trip and Captain Richard will put you on whatever’s running.
